Patriot: Empire, betrayal, and hope
Here is my story of my career in the Law, then entering politics as a Conservative Member of Parliament in 2015, serving as Attorney-General and holding one of the Great Offices of State: Home Secretary.
I was at the table during some of the seismic political events in the last decade like Brexit and Covid and witnessed first-hand the Great Betrayals by the Conservative Party in government. In January 2026 I left the Conservative Party and joined Reform UK where I am now spokesman for Education, Skills and Equalities. In this book I write candidly and openly about my political career and my colleagues, experiences in government and my aspirations for the future.
In this book, as in my public statements, I makes no secret of my beliefs and my wishes for the people I represent in parliament, in my constituency, and the country. Through it all, one thing is constant: my gratitude to Great Britain and the British people.

REFORM EDUCATION POLICY
As Reform UK's spokesperson for Education, Skills and Equalities I know the big task ahead to get Britain's young people back on rack and restore hope to our nation.
To that end, and the quest to bring patriotism back to our classrooms and workplaces If you're a teacher, headteacher, governor, SENCO, teaching assistant, further education lecturer, or simply a parent with first-hand experience of what's working and what isn't in our schools and colleges, I want to hear from you.
I'm particularly keen to hear ideas on:

Closing the attainment gap for disadvantaged pupils, especially white working class boys

Safeguarding and single-sex spaces in schools

Behaviour, discipline and classroom standards

SEND provision and support for children with additional needs

Curriculum content and academic rigour

Pathways into apprenticeships, further education and employment

Cutting bureaucracy and freeing up teachers to teach
Whether it's a fully worked-up policy proposal or a problem you think needs fixing, I'd like to hear about it. Real change comes from listening to people with real experience, not from Whitehall committees.
Justice for Aria
Aria Thorpe was nine years old. Her family describe her as a bubbly, happy child who loved dressing up and country music, and who had celebrated her ninth birthday with a K-pop themed party only weeks before her death.
On 15 December 2025, Aria died at home after being stabbed once in the chest.
A teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons as he was a child at the time, was charged with her murder. At a two-week trial at Bristol Crown Court in June 2026, he told the jury he had picked up a kitchen knife intending to frighten Aria, and accepted in his own words that he was "100% to blame" for her death.
The jury acquitted him of both murder and manslaughter.

I was born and raised with a strong sense of duty to our country and the belief that Britain should be a place where hard work, honesty and common sense are rewarded.
