Apprentices and industry experts joined politicians in Westminster this week at a reception in Parliament.
The reception was held in the Terrace Pavilion of the House of and was attended my MPs, Ministers and industry representatives – including an apprentices from Fareham.
The event provided an opportunity for those working in the sector to meet policymakers to find out more about the industry. It was also a celebration the 11,000 apprenticeships provided by companies in these sectors.
ADS is a trade association representing over 1,000 companies, including 900 SMEs, across the UK’s Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space sectors. From technology to exports, to apprenticeships and investment, the sectors it covers are vital to the UK’s growth – generating £72bn a year for the UK economy, including £37bn in exports, and directly providing 363,000 jobs.
It was a delight to meet some very talented apprentices from BAE and Safran in Parliament.
The number of apprenticeships has massively increased in Fareham over the last few years as they are a brilliant way to learn skills, start a career and earn a living.
I would encourage young people considering their future career options to look into apprenticeships in Fareham.
