Businesses met with me to talk about the opportunities for global trade after Brexit.
24 business owners based in Fareham met with representatives from the Department for International Trade (DIT) and me to talk about ways for local firms to access global markets after our departure from the EU.
DIT gave a talk on what assistance will be available to support locally based businesses to trade with the EU after Brexit and more widely with the rest of the world, including how to access foreign buyers.
This was a great opportunity for local businesses to find out more about how to trade globally after Brexit.
Thank you to all businesses who came along and to the Department for International Trade for taking the time to speak with our brilliant businesses.
We have amazing talent here in Fareham, with such a wide variety of innovative and growing businesses – Brexit will be a golden opportunity for them to expand in the global marketplace.
The lunch and discussion took place at Fareham College’s Avenue 141 restaurant, and was part of the Solent Business Forum a group run by me with local businesses to provide a dialogue between business and politicians, policy-makers and key stakeholders regarding trade, growth and jobs.
