A church in Warsash was packed with hundreds of local people eager to take part in my carol service.
I welcomed Members of the public into St Mary’s Church in Warsash, and we then sang along to a number of Christmas Carols classics, with readings between each carol, and finally finishing off the service with an address and prayers from Rev. Mike Terry and Prayers from Rev. Nicky-Sue. After the carols and readings, those who attended were able to tuck into mince pies donated by Tesco’s and mulled wine.
During the collection at the service, the Fareham residents generously donated nearly £350 for Y-Services, a children and young people’s charity that operates in Fareham and Gosport.
This was a brilliant opportunity to come together as a community and really get into the Christmas spirit during at special time of the year.
I would like to say thank you to everyone who came along and especially all of those involved with organising of the service. Chris Milburn (organist); Brigid Ryan (choral performer); all the readers, Tesco for donating the mince pies; the choir members, Sara Willoughby and Judy Meads from Hook with Warsash School, Warsash Sea cadets and last, but by no means least, ministers Mike and Nicky-Sue Terry.
