I enjoyed meeting members of Catisfield Village Association for its monthly meeting last Friday.
I was invited to speak about my first year in Parliament representing the people of Fareham and, followed by a Q&A session where I was quizzed on everything from Brexit to my experience in Parliament and being elected, finishing off the evening with drinks and nibbles and the opportunity to talk with residents.
It was a pleasure meeting with residents of Catisfield and the members CVA. The CVA works to bring people together from the local area and promote community spirit by taking up campaigns on issues that matter to the people of Catisfield, putting on social events and pursuing charitable causes.
We all too often hear of the decline of community spirit, so it is refreshing to see the CVA buck this trend by working to bring people together. I thank and commend the CVA for the work it does in promoting a strong community spirit in Catisfield and the area.
The Catisfield Village Association is a local community organisation which works to ensure the preservation of the environment in the local area, scrutinise all forms of development within the area and neighbouring areas, report public nuisances and build a community spirit. The CVA also holds social events, and recently held a party to mark the Queens 90th birthday with a vintage tea and cake celebration, and holds regular coffee mornings, dance events and charity fundraisers.
