The MP for Fareham, Suella Braverman, was pleased to donate a gift alongside Hayley Hammet from One Community and Mike Taylor from Fareham Shopping Centre, as part of the local Santa for a Senior scheme.
The scheme offers an excellent opportunity to donate a gift to those who will be by themselves this Christmas and who may not be receiving any gifts. Suella wants to encourage as many people as possible in Fareham to head down to the Fareham Shopping Centre. There is a donation station run by One Community, who will be working with social prescribers and the Back to the Future team to co-ordinate the delivery of gifts this Christmas.
Fareham residents are encouraged to place donations into a life-sized present box, which can be found at Café Giardino until the 19th December. The donations should be placed in the box unwrapped and the shopping centre has an amazing group of volunteers that will ensure gifts are wrapped carefully before reaching their final destination.
Commenting Suella Said:
“I am incredibly thankful for the Santa for a Senior initiative set up by One Community and Fareham Shopping Centre this Christmas. I placed my gift in the giant box the other day and I want to encourage as many people as possible in Fareham to do the same. It is a great way to ensure that many of those who would not otherwise receive a gift this Christmas have the opportunity to unwrap something this Christmas. Community action like this goes a long way to instilling happiness, when I know that many senior residents have gone through particularly trying times this year”
