I had the pleasure of visiting pupils and teachers at Hook-with-Warsash CofE Academy
During my visit, I met with Headteacher Sara Willoughby, the teaching staff and school Governors Roger Clear and Rev Mike Terry of St Mary’s Church in Warsash, with whom I discussed raising funding for the school and the recent good report from Ofsted.
I then took assembly, opening the floor to a Q&A, where pupils were able to quiz me on everything from Brexit, to life in Parliament, laws and democracy, votes for children and inspiring role models. It was very encouraging to hear the children asking so many excellent questions!
I was pleased that the school supported my Christmas carol service with their amazing school choir, the singing was amazing! I would like to thank the teaching staff for all they do to ensure that our children get the best start in life.
Following an inspection by Ofsted on 8th March 2018, the school was judged to be good. The inspection stated that the school is led with “positivity and care” and it’s “strong community spirit”. In the report, staff said that they feel “hugely supported” to develop and progress, while the pupils embraced the Christian values of “love, independence, growth, happiness and trust (LIGHT)”, and the teaching methods “strongly supports pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
Well done Hook-with-Warsash CoE Academy!
