Since first being elected in 2015, local health issues and services have been a priority for me.
I have been working closely with Fareham Community Hospital Taskforce, which I set up in 2015, to improve service provision and utilisation at the hospital. So far we have been successful in doing so and I am proud to see FCH now providing services to thousands more patients across Fareham through the Same Day Access Service.
I am passionate about putting the needs of Fareham residents at the forefront of the discussion on local healthcare services. That is why I, and the Taskforce, am running a consultation on the future direction of services at FCH, putting patients and practitioners in control.
I also want to improve decision making on healthcare by giving those most directly impacted by it their say. That is why I am inviting people in Fareham to join me at a Healthcare Summit I have organised, being held at Fareham Community Church from 6.30pm on 14th September 2018.
At the summit we will discuss real solutions to the issues that matter most to local patients. It is also about giving patients a voice and making services accountable. Attendees will be able to put questions directly to representatives from Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, Fareham Community Hospital, Fareham & Gosport Clinical Commissioning Group, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, Hampshire County Council Adult Health & Care and others.
I am campaigning to put the people of Fareham at the heart local healthcare and I am urging everyone to get involved and have their say.
