It was a pleasure welcoming Fareham’s Women’s Institute in Parliament. The group does great work on local campaigns, and providing members with opportunities to socialise and take part in a wide a variety of activities.
Over 50 members of Fareham Town Women’s Institute were welcomed to the Houses of Parliament and had the opportunity to see the House of Lords, House of Commons, Westminster Hall, and other areas usually closed off to the public.
An important part of being a local MP is making Parliament accessible for the people I represent, which includes arranging visits by local schools, charities, businesses and other organisations to the Houses of Parliament.
The tours are an excellent way to learn about the history of the Palace of Westminster, an institution at the heart of political life in Britain. I would urge anyone who wishes to attend a tour to get in touch with me.
