I welcomed 24 members of Fareham Town Women’s Institute to the Houses of Parliament where they had the opportunity to meet and talk with their local me, and received a tour of the Palace of Westminster.
During their tour, the 24 members of Castle View Portchester WI had the opportunity to see the House of Lords, House of Commons, Westminster Hall, and other areas usually closed off to the public.
It was a lovely welcoming the WI to Parliament and I would like to thank them for coming up from Fareham and braving the cold!
The group does great work on local campaigns, and providing members with opportunities to socialise and take part in a wide a variety of activities.
An important part of being a local MP is making Parliament accessible for the people I represent, which includes arranging visits by local schools, charities, businesses and other organisations to the Houses of Parliament.
