Fareham pupils have been getting creative as they competed to design this year’s Parliamentary Christmas card.
I invited local pupils to take part in my third Christmas card competition and design a card that I will send out to over 500 people, including the Prime Minister and many people across Fareham.
Dozens of youngsters got involved from schools across Fareham, it was very difficult to choose just one winner! But in the end, this year Hannah Brown, age 8, of Park Gate Primary School submitted what I thought was the winning entry, with an artistic depiction of a Christmas elf flanked by a dazzling array of stars and a vibrant green and red Christmas message.
I have now visited and awarded a prize and special certificate to all the children who entered the competition. Hannah also received a prize and a framed copy of her winning yuletide card.
I am always struck by the creativity and variety of the cards. I was really impressed again with the quality of the entries, it was such a difficult task choosing just one winner.
Hannah’s card really stood out for me and I am delighted that her work will now be seen by people. She deserves to be very proud of herself.
