The Government announced today that it plans to support the Welborne Garden Village in Fareham by making available an extra £10 million in funding for infrastructure.
In a letter sent to me yesterday the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, the Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP, said:
"I welcome your support on this scheme and the wider plans for growth in your constituency as evidenced in your bid. I am pleased that this funding will help provide the infrastructure your community needs to drive housing delivery."
I’m delighted with the news that the Government has allocated £10m towards Welborne Garden Village.
This is vital money which will go towards building new roads, services, and infrastructure to ensure that the new houses coming to Fareham will be able to be delivered in a way that supports all of our residents.
In Fareham we are all facing a lot of challenges with housing and planning, we need to start building new homes, but we need to also ensure that the right infrastructure is in place.
