Suella Braverman, MP for Fareham, has welcomed the news that a local volunteer led project has received funding from players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
The Bursledon Brickworks Museum, a run by volunteers in Swanwick, received £13,539.20 from the Postcode Local Trust. The funding is to go towards the museum’s playground regeneration project, which aims to build a new play area that will allow more young people in the community to engage with the museum and its learning programme
Congratulating the organisation, Suella said:
“I’m delighted to hear that the Bursledon Brickworks Museum has received funding from the People’s Postcode Lottery. The museum provides valuable learning opportunities for young people and special needs groups and this additional funding will make a huge difference to the incredible volunteers who provide those services.
“I would encourage any other local groups and charities needing additional project funding to consider applying to the Postcode Community Trust, the Postcode Local Trust or the People’s Postcode Trust when the next funding round opens.”

To date, players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised more than £404 million for over 5,500 good causes across Great Britain.
Local charities and community groups can apply for funding from the Postcode Community Trust, the Postcode Local Trust and the People’s Postcode Trust. The next funding round opens on 31st July. More information can be found via the trusts’ websites.
