Hundreds of Fareham residents attended a Senior Citizens Fair on Friday, 17 May hosted by local MP Suella Braverman.
The fair was an opportunity for local people to engage with organisations who were on hand to offer advice and support on housing, legal matters, holidays, health and well being, and acitivities and clubs.
Over 25 stallholders were present at the third annual event, including Lockswood Women’s Institute, Fareham Men’s Shed, Cinnamon Trust, Gracewell Health Care, Fareham Citizens Advice Bureau and Community First amongst others. The Fair was also sponsored by Lucketts Travel.
Attendees were also able to speak with Mrs Braverman about the world of politics and any concerns they had about local or national issues.
Commenting on the fair, Suella Braverman MP said:
“I was delighted to host my third annual Senior Citizens’ Fair which proved very useful for hundreds of local residents. I think it is very important that as people start to retire and become senior members of our community, they have the necessary tools and information to plan their lives and maintain healthy and happy lives.
“I would like to thank all those organisations that had stalls at the Fair and all the Fareham residents who attended, as well as Lucketts Travel who sponsored the event. I very much look forward to holding another Senior Citizens’ Fair next year.”
