Last week, Suella Braverman visited local tech firm, MediaBase Direct, at their Fareham-based facility, to learn more about the latest product in digital innovation that is fighting COVID-19.
The ‘e-Reception Book’ is a digital tablet installed at schools, care homes and other business settings, that replaces paper-based visitor and staff logging books by allowing users to eletronically sign-in to various venues. Visitors can pre-register at sites, while facility mangers can monitor headcounts in real time.
During the pandemic, the visitor management system has been updated to integrate with the NHS COVID-19 contact tracing app for England and Wales. Its touch-less features also allow for registration with NHS COVID-19 contact tracing QR codes, while the service is fully GDPR compliant.
MediaBase Direct have been operating for more than 25 years, delivering innovative database and digital solutions. Over recent months, the firm have been operating – albeit, while adhering to social distancing – at Arena Business Centres’ Lancaster Court in Fareham; the e-Reception Book is now in use at all 10 Arena Business Centres across the South.
MBD Director Anil Jain said:
“It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Mrs Braverman and we are very grateful that she was able to find the time in her very busy schedule to visit”.
“It was clear from her visit that Mrs Braverman recognises the role that dynamic tech companies play in digital transformation and the benefits this can bring to society and the economy. We would be very pleased to assist in any initiatives she may have in the future.”
Commenting Suella said:
“Firstly, I would like to thank MBD director Anil Jain, and the staff at Lancaster Court, for guiding me around their impressive facility. I am pleased to see how the company has been operating in spite of the current crisis, observing social distancing measures while enhancing our ability to tackle the virus”.
“MediaBase Direct is a very much a success story which epitomises the innovation, creativity and dynamism of the tech sector in my constituency. The company is to be congratulated for its contribution to digital safeguarding to help us face the challenging times ahead.”
