The MP for Fareham recently met with the new CEO of Zurich UK Tim Bailey to discuss the company’s ongoing commitment to employment in Fareham and its importance as a provider of essential services. The meeting represented a chance for the local MP to understand more about Zurich’s operations, its ethical approach to insurance and offered an insight into how the industry is coping with the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Zurich UK is a major employer at Fareham, with one of their leading offices located just off the M27 in Whiteley. The company contributes to the diversification of the Fareham economy and acts as a major draw for industry expertise and financial investment. CEO Tim Bailey was keen to initiate an open dialogue with the MP for Fareham going forward and the meeting represents the first step for what is set to be a mutually beneficial relationship for Fareham and Zurich UK.
Zurich Uk is committed to providing a high standard of service. In the UK, Zurich’s well-established flexible working culture has proved vital during this crisis, as it has meant transition to an almost entirely home-working employee base has been seamless. As a result Zurich has successfully been able to mitigate the impact on their customers, distributors and partners and Zurich has managed to successfully continue ‘business as usual’.
Commenting Suella Said:
“Here in Fareham we are incredibly fortunate to share a home with one of the UK’s leading insurance providers. Zurich’s industry expertise and inclusive workplace culture offer a breath of fresh air and unparalleled economic and social benefits to their large amount of employees based here in Fareham. I am incredible excited to work with Tim more in the coming months as we aim to diversify and energise the Fareham economy. I am also looking forward to receiving a tour of the Whiteley office and meeting some of our very own hard-working Fareham residents.”
