- As part of the £50 million Reopening High Streets Safely Fund, Fareham Borough Council is set to receive £103,270 to prepare for a safe re-opening after lockdown restrictions come to an end.
- As a coastal community, Fareham will also receive £65,000 of non-ringfenced funding, which can be used to support bids for the Coastal Revival Fund and the Levelling-up Fund.
Suella Braverman has welcomed news that Fareham Borough Council is set to receive £103,270 to help prepare for the safe and successful reopening of our high streets.
This investment will help to kickstart local economies and businesses, while giving people reassurance that they can shop and socialise safely again.
The Government’s new £56 million Welcome Back Fund builds on this funding, by helping councils to boost tourism, improve green spaces, provide more outdoor seating areas and install signage to encourage social distancing.
Part of this funding will also be allocated specifically to support coastal areas, with funding going to all coastal resorts across England to safely welcome holiday makers in the coming months.
