Suella Braverman was pleased to recently convene the Fareham Community Hospital Taskforce, to reflect on the operations and capacity of the facility during the pandemic and to discuss future improvements. Suella commented that it was excellent to hear of the 83,712 cumulative total doses of the vaccine delivered in Fareham and pleasing to note that FCH has continued to operate efficiently despite the problems posed by the pandemic. Similarly, Suella was pleased to tour the new Renal Centre at the last meeting and was exceptionally impressed by the innovative thinking and brilliant delivery of the new service, which is an incredible example of the facilities of FCH being maximised to full capacity.
Similarly, the MP for Fareham noted it was also great to hear a presentation on options to relocate services from Queen Alexandra to FCH which is an exciting proposal. Although still in the early stages, the proposal has potential for increasing footfall and an increased variety of services, whilst also limiting the necessity of having to travel to Queen Alexandra reducing journey time and inconvenience.
Suella wanted to personally thank the Friends of Fareham Community Hospital for all their excellent work and to extend her gratitude to all the volunteers and the whole healthcare sector, for their truly inspiring work over the last year.
