On Friday, the MP for Fareham joined specialists from Google to host a Google Digital Garage workshop. The event offered an opportunity for Fareham businesses to share expertise and insights, as well as learn about enhancing their digital marketing strategy from a variety of experts.
The MP for Fareham introduced the event, stating that she recognised that 2021 had been an incredibly tough year for businesses, as many businesses have struggled with footfall and adjusting to the new status quo. Suella highlighted the importance of events such as the Google Digital Garage workshops, in allowing a bridge between the MP and local businesses, providing a platform through which SME concerns and recommendations can be addressed, heard, and amplified within Government.
The event was run as a roundtable, to ensure that training from Google’s resident experts was interactive; allowing questions and answers to supplement the experience. The professionals from Google provided expert advice on how Fareham business owners can grow their enterprises, maximise outreach and increase uptake from potential stakeholders. The workshop also provided an opportunity for local professionals and business owners to articulate their thoughts on what further support the Government can offer to help SMEs unlock and operate.
Commenting, Suella Said:
“Our number one priority as a Government is UK economic recovery and although we are already on that road; with growth up and more people employed than pre-pandemic levels – we still have a long way to go. We can only reach our destination through consultation and collaboration, experiencing first-hand the concerns and needs of local SME’s, which form the backbone of our economy. So, events like today’s Google Digital Garage are a vital opportunity for an open dialogue. They allow businesses to gain insights and expertise as well as providing me with direct access to the concerns and queries of local enterprise.”
