Last month, I updated Fareham and Waterlooville residents on the disappointing situation where Fareham Borough Council was forced to remove Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) from seven trees.
Continuing this campaign, I wrote with Paul Holmes, MP for Hamble Valley, to the Lords Minister for Housing and Local Government, asking for further assurances from the Government on this issue.
In previous correspondence, the Minister stated, “I can assure you that I have passed on your comments to departmental officials for their consideration.” Responding, we asked for an update on the departmental officials’ conclusions.
Furthermore, we asked for an update on their review of the reintroduction of Article 5 certificates—a potentially useful tool to stop the felling of TPO trees.
We have not received a response from the Department yet.
